Whitetail
and Mule Deer Bowhunting Trips in North Central Alberta
This is the perfect opportunity for a bowhunter to take a bowhunting
trip of a lifetime. Take advantage of the expertise of a seasoned
successful bowhunter / guide as you hunt for your trophy whitetail
or mule deer. The hunting area is in the North Central region of
Alberta north of the town of Barrhead. Mature deer are taken here
every year that exceed the P & Y minimums with the potential
for 150 class whitetail and 160 class mule deer or better. Although
not recommended, this hunt may also be booked as a single species
hunt for either deer. Hunts dates will typically be early September
when both species are still in their summer feed patterns. See below
for hunt dates and costs.
Hunters will enjoy the comforts of
home at a local bed and breakfast and the hospitality of the guide
while chasing big mature bucks. Hunters will have the benefit of
hunting with a guides that have lived and hunted here all of their
lives and know the area and the deer intimately. Hunters will have
the choice of hunting in the early part of September or late October.
Hunting will be from well scouted, and carefully placed tree stands
or ground blinds. Hunting at the end of October will include rattling
sequences for whitetail deer. Combo whitetail and mule deer hunt
days will normally consist of morning and evening stands for whitetail
and mid-day spot and stalk hunting for mule deer. Living and hunting
in or near the areas where the bowhunts will take place allows the
guides to scout year round to stay on top of deer movements and
habits.
Hunter arrival should be scheduled for the Sarturday prior to hunt
start date and departure for late on the Sunday after the hunt or
the folowing Monday. Hunts are six days duration, Monday to Saturday.
