Update from our 2008 spring black bear hunts:
"Ron returned again for his 4th bear
hunt with us and brought Bud, his good friend and hunting partner
along. Ian joined us as well to make 3 hunters for the week. Louie
and Cam were back to guide as well, so made for a great time in camp
again. Things got off to a great start with Ian shooting a beautiful
cinnamon brown off the bait stockpile 100 yards from camp in the first
5 minutes of his hunt. Ron was haunted all week by the blonde boar
with red-brown highlights on the BP stand site and later by the large
black boar on the Den stand site, unfortunately, no shot opportunities
presented themselves by either bear. Bud passed on the bears he saw,
but had an excellent time on the hunt. We are looking forward to the
2009 season and would be pleased if you were to join us in camp for
what is always a great time."

Spring Black Bear Bowhunts
in North Central Alberta:
Located 2 hours northwest of
Edmonton Alberta along the Athabasca River in the boreal forest zone.
This area has produced numerous bears larger than the Alberta average.
The colour phases of the black bears run from light blonde to cinnamon
to dark chocolate brown and black.
Bear hunts are done over baits, although
spot and stalk hunts are an option. Hunters are allowed to take
two (2) bears per year in this area. Bowhunting over bait is a very
successful way of taking trophy black bears for the archery hunter.
Bowhunts will be conducted from tree stands, unless the hunter prefers
to utilize a ground blind. Tree stands are portable and are placed
15 to 20 yards from the bait. Hunters will be taken to the stand
in mid to late afternoon and picked up at dark. Hunters do have
the option to hunt all day if they wish. We utilize a winning combination
of oats and molasses, cookies, meat scraps, and beaver for our baiting
program.
All terrain vehicles are used to access
our camp and the hunting area around it. Camp consists of canvas
outfitter wall tents, which are spacious and comfortable. Each tent
has a wood burning stove, cots, and lights. Camp is limited to a
maximum of 4 hunters per week and provides the hunter with a comfortable,
enjoyable wilderness experience.
We have 3
spots left for 2009 and are now taking bookings for 2010
Don't be dissapointed as our hunts book early in the year and we
only have a limited number.
